Scholar In Residence Lectures
Friday Night Lecture: Organic Torah: Renewing the Old and Sanctifying the New
How can we integrate Jewish Wisdom with the cutting edge of modern science? We can do so by shifting from a perspective of breaking things down into smallest parts to one in which we look at the whole.
Shabbat morning D'var Torah: Revelation: Unique Event or Continuing Possibility?
We'll examine the idea of continuing, dynamic revelation by seeing the Torah and the world as full of infinite possible patterns: Like a string of pearls which we can continually rearrange to find new possibilities.
Shabbat Lunch: Experiencing Ecological Torah in our Lives
We'll take this opportunity to experience for ourselves some of the principles of Organic Torah which have been discussed. Fun and enlightening!
Havdalah: Renewing our Relation to Creation
Judaism has many stories of Creation which you may not have heard of. These variations on our Stories of Creation are ecological, inspiring and, in this time of ecological crises, could change our whole relation to Creation.
